Bala's technical staff is well respected in the engineering industry and is often asked to present on many topics from data center design, to "green" building design and commissioning. Our staff has presented at national conferences for various trade organizations as well as at local chapter meetings. Many current and potential clients have also asked us to give educational presentations to help their staff better understand the methods and technologies of engineering.

Below are some of our presentations for your review. If you would like us to present at your conference or office please email us at presentations@bala.com.

Data Center Relocation...Take One!
This presentation gives a behind-the-scenes look at the important steps required for a successful data
center relocation. The criteria for conceptual design through the life of the data center starts here. This presentation explores the relocation planning involved in order
to achieve a scalable, sustainable data center and how it comes to life once the infrastructure is installed.

Technology Trends Driving Data Center Design
This presentation takes a historical look at the evolution of the modern Data Center. It identifies the design requirements and component options available for a new Data Center designs vs. those utilized in Data Centers only a few years old. Topics include trends and issues in the modern Data Center, including cable plant, topologies, distribution, racking and support, and access floor management, converged and meshed networks housed in the Data Center, as well as the evolution and impact of these systems within the Modern Data Center. This presentation was given to a sold out crowd in Nashville, Tennessee this past April.

The GPS Roadmap to a Reliable Data Center
In September Bala gave an encore presentation of the sold out GPS Roadmap to a Reliable Data Center at the Fall AFCOM meeting at Penn Oaks Golf Club. Bala adapted the presentation for this local audience and updated it with a few more detours along the road. The presentation emphasizes the importance of designing data centers with the future of technology and operation in mind.

The GPS Roadmap to a Reliable Data Center
Using a GPS roadmap to guide our way, this presentation will walk through the important aspects of designing a reliable Data Center, with an eye on sustainability and growth. Too often Data Centers are designed for today's technology and purposes and become difficult to adapt to future needs. The presentation emphasizes the importance of designing data centers with the future of technology and operation in mind. This presentation was given to a sold out crowd in Nashville, Tennessee this past April.

Don't Hate... Coordinate
Coordination can be one of the most challenging components of any project. Maintaining the Client's goals and objectives throughout a project and communicating them effectively is a must. There are many different people involved in the design and construction of all facilities. Communication between all parties is extremely important and should not be overlooked. Bala utilizes effective tools and meetings to facilitate communication on all projects. This presentation highlights some of our methods and outlines the people potentially involved at each phase of the project.
