Developer, Buccini/Pollin Group and Marriott International have purchased and are rebranding the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel into the new 365-room Philadelphia Marriott Old City. The hotel was originally built in 1986 and was last renovated in 2012.
This renovation located at 1 Dock Street will become the newest Marriott Hotels branded property in Philadelphia. The renovation includes a new concierge desk, great room, bar and grab & go space, lounge, private dining room and meeting room, a fitness space and media room.
Bala utilized the existing heating and cooling plants to serve the HVAC needs of the renovated areas. The new lounge consisted of a complete renovation, which included new receptacles, appliances, power for new HVAC and new lighting fixtures and controls.
The bar area is equipped with a four scene preset remote dimmer system with a control panel at the restaurant bar. The building interior and exterior lighting systems were replaced to meet the Marriott brand standards. The new feature bar at the ground level social zone included new receptacles/USB ports at each seat, as well as new check-in pods, a new boarding pass station and reader boards at the welcoming zone.
All new property management systems and point of sale systems were updated and recircuited. All fire alarm and life safety systems were updated or replaced.
