Located adjacent to the 37-story, 100 Federal Street office tower, The Exchange is a contemporary addition to the heart of Boston's busy financial district. The glass atrium includes three restaurants, an enclosed year-round garden and a large digital media wall making it a perfect space for meetings or entertainment. The project also included a renovation to some existing spaces within the 100 Federal Street office tower to allow for the creation of a corridor to connect the existing tower and the glass atrium. A lower level cafeteria and kitchen space in the office tower was also converted into an underground parking level.
Bala's MEP/FP group designed for new air handling units, as well as a high-efficiency radiant heating and cooling floor system. The large digital media wall also has its own dedicated supplemental cooling system.
