Audacy (formerly Entercom), the nation’s second largest radio station group owner, moved its corporate headquarters to 2400 Market Street in Philadelphia.
The Audacy project at 2400 Market Street combines their corporate headquarters with broadcast studios and offices for 5 of their Philadelphia Market Radio Stations, including KYW, WIP Sports Talk and WPT Talk Radio. Audacy operates a network of over 235 news, sports and music and radio stations across the country with the company headquartered in Philadelphia. This project provided the opportunity for Audacy to combine both sides of their company in a single location on a 70,000 single floor plate. The Northern end of the office houses the broadcast stations, studios, production, offices, sales and Technical Operations Center.
The project has been designed to give Audacy’s broadcast operations UPS and standby power to provide the resiliency to be broadcasting 24/7 in the event of a power failure event. The Southern end of the space houses the corporate functions, including the executive suite. Housed in between both spaces is the nexus space, which features the main reception, community hub, as well as multipurpose space for live music and events.
The project utilizes Variable Refrigerant Fluid (VRF) technology as their basic HVAC system with indoor fan coils and rooftop condensers with dedicated supplemental systems for the 24/7 technical spaces. Bala Structures also designed a glass moveable partition to encapsulate Entercom’s conference and stage area, including the bleacher platforms. Commissioning of the mission critical spaces was performed to verify monitoring, control and alarm reporting of equipment serving the data and communication operations function as intended.
