Digital Realty Trust a nation-wide leader in Data Center solutions, selected Bala for ongoing MEP/FP design services as well as commissioning & testing on multiple sites located on their Philadelphia campus.
The project involved the reconstitution of their 8th floor Data Center of approximately 15,000 square feet to include a new access floor and associated power, cooling and fire protection. Bala developed and executed Level 5 Operational Qualification (OQ) procedures for the following critical systems: Building Management System (BMS), UPS “A” and UPS “B” systems, consisting of four 625kVA/562kW UPS modules, System Control Cabinets (SCCA, SCCB), one 2.5 MVA/2.0 MW stand-by diesel generator (G-800), fire alarm/EPO systems, including FM200 fire suppression and double-interlocked pre-action system fire protection, zoned for the data center, electric room and battery room, automatic and manual EPO and EPO inhibit and Data center temperature verification and water leak detection.
