This 23-story, luxury tower is the second building to be built within National Real Estate Development’s multi-phase redevelopment project of East Market, which includes an entire city block of Philadelphia. The tower includes amenities such as a dog run and outdoor and indoor play area for children, a 25-meter-long lap pool, fitness center, game room, demonstration kitchen and library.
Bala provided the MEP/FP engineering services this residential high-rise which includes 220,000 SF of residential and amenity spaces, as well as 105,000 SF of office and retail space.
This project includes the design & documentation of a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system to service the West Tower, Levels 3-24. The integrated CHP system will include an integrated single package with 2 high-pressure natural gas C65 ICHP Microturbines, each with a hot water heat exchanger to be used for the domestic water heating system for the residential levels.
The building also incorporated many sustainable features and achieved LEED Silver certification.
