Bala’s Commissioning Team worked on the new 190,000 square foot Health, Science, and Technology (HST) building on the university’s Asa Packer campus. The building is sustainably designed to provide a flexible research and teaching space for students and faculty. It is the largest facility on the campus.

The building houses the College of Health with over 36,000 SF of lab space. Interiors are set up in a ‘Living Lab’ configuration with a mixture of collaboration space throughout, promoting innovation in research and education. Other highlights include open workspaces, a Population Health Data (PHD) warehouse, a data visualization lab, café, and a high tech media center for community gatherings. The building is also connected to the university’s Whitaker Lab via footbridge, further expanding the research neighborhood.
