In order to improve and expand its operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) constructed a new Regional Traffic Management Center and parking structure for their 6th District.
The design-build project included 43,000 SF of new construction and the fit-out of the existing RTMG space. The operations center holds more than half of the state's Intelligence Transportation Systems and will house multiple technology systems to manage the day-to-day operations of a mission critical transportation center.
Our technology scope included the design of the IT infrastructure, access control, and the design of the connecting backbone infrastructure between the existing RTMC. building and the new one. This included bringing the new building online while the existing was still in operation.
