Philadelphia relocated the Police department headquarters, Police Districts 6 & 9, the E-911 call center, and the medical examiner's office under one roof in the historic Philadelphia Inquirer Building. The new facility centralizes these departments to improve the procedures and services for the community. The consolidated E-911 call/dispatch center unites the police, fire, and EMS operations into a state-of-the-art 22,000-square-foot space. The critical Data Center operations are also housed in the new facility and include 2N redundant power and N+1 cooling systems. Bala designed the MEP/FP systems for the E-911 call/dispatch center, the situation conference room, and the Data Center, as well as the technology infrastructure systems and security for the entire facility.

Bala's technology design included the base building infrastructure low voltage systems for security and structured cabling for the 496,000 square foot facility. We also coordinated with the City's Technology Systems and Audio/Visual consultant to design proper connectivity for the police, fire, and EMS technology and radio systems.
